Kavanagh CSTD Inspiration Scholarship
March,
2008 – Recepient of the sixth Ruby Kavanagh
CSTD lnspiration Scholarship for the sum
of Singapore Dollars One Thousand. This is one of
four Scholarships which have been created in 2002
"to honour teachers of dance for their dedication
to imparting the wonder and magic of dance to young
people in the Asia-Pacific region." ln particular,
they honour four teachers who have contributed greatly
to the art of dance in Singapore.
En Rui
has consistently achieved high marks in her CSTD examinations,
up to Elementary level in Classical and Grade 4 in
Modern Jazz, where she obtained the top mark of Honours
Plus. She has also been a regular participant in CSTD
events like the Summer School and Competition, and
has gained her Dorothy
Gladstone Classical Award.
This
scholarship will enable En Rui to attend either the
CSTD Theatrical Festival in Perth or the Summer School
in Singapore, and the remainder can be used for CSTD
classes or other approved activity which will contribute
to and extend her dance experience.

Dance™
and CHIJ Our Lady of the Nativity Performance Inc.
Kavanagh Dance™
has been teaching the CHIJ OLN students for the past 15 years
and had established the above dance group in May 2005.
Currently Performance
Inc has 46 members, with the children aged from 7 to 9 years
old. The training incorporates both ballet and modern jazz
techniques. Although the group was only formed 3 years ago,
it has had numerous accomplishments:
